Shopping or registering for new baby is fun and exciting! It's the part in the pregnancy process that can really start to makes things feel REAL! Once you start picking out tiny little socks and adorable outfits, you will start to imagine the day you can finally bring home new baby! I spent so much time deciding on which baby outfit I would pack with me in my hospital bag to bring baby home in and finally ended up just packing 4 different outfits because I couldn't decide! I knew I was having a boy and baby boy clothes are a lot cuter than they used to be.
When your friends and family start to plan your baby shower, you will be asked, "where are you registered?!" I never did register for my first baby which I really regret! I was so nervous about my pregnancy that I hardly told anybody. The first time my husband went to our local baby retail store, we did one big loop and walked out empty handed. We didn't even know where to start or what we needed! After having one baby, I now understand the must-haves and nice to haves! I even created a helpful list for new mothers!
So if I could go back in time and register for my first baby, would I? Absolutely! I think my friends and family did a great job of getting me the essentials but it would have been fun to pick some stuff out too. I just recently learned about Babylist which is a baby registry online where you can choose items from any store or online shop that signs up with them! It's like a one stop shop where you can choose all your baby essentials from the comfort of your own home, right on your computer!
As you become new parents, you will have enough decisions to make. Some decisions are fun like the name and brainstorming nursery theme ideas. Other decisions are not so fun like the ones you don't really think of until they come up like which vaccines to give new baby or whether or not you're getting an epidural. Literally, there are so many decisions and you HAVE to make them since you are now responsible for this tiny human! One of the most stressful decisions for me was choosing the right child care provider for my little one. That one was hard but I am really happy with the center we chose.
I am not trying to stress you out. Some decisions are hard and the information out there is contradicting and confusing. I started out buying some inexpensive plastic bottles for my son. They leaked and they became worn out pretty quickly since they were low quality. When I bought them, I was just trying to save some money and assumed they were BPA free and safe. While plastics are required to be free of BPA if used for eating or drinking, studies have shown they aren't always free of all harmful chemicals! You can learn more about why I ended up choosing glass over plastic here.
So, anyways, I could go on and on about all the decisions you will have to make but my point is Babylist makes it easy! You don't have to choose one registry and you can shop around all in one spot. It's a one stop shop for all things baby. The glass bottles (pictured above) I now use for my son are now part of Babylist ! I have a few friends that are pregnant right now and tell them to try Babylist out since it's so convenient.
